TryPresenceBot fetches a small number of public pages from a website only when someone who says they own the business, or are authorised by it, checks or orders a TryPresence audit of it. It always obeys robots.txt.

How to recognise it

Its user agent contains TryPresenceBot/1.0 and links to this page.

What it does

• Reads your homepage, robots.txt and a handful of linked public pages.
• Never logs in, submits forms, or fetches pages behind a password.
• Makes a small number of requests per audit, not a continuous crawl.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: TryPresenceBot
Disallow: /
